The WIRTGEN GROUP user magazine

A fresh design and strong teamwork

Decorative picture featuring motorways from the RoadNews magazine

The five product brands of the WIRTGEN GROUP cover the entire process chain of road construction. Each one specialises in certain industry segments and together they offer their customers optimised solutions. RoadNews, the cross-brand user magazine, provides insights into everyday life on a construction site, gives information about new technologies and offers valuable practical tips.

Redesign of the WIRTGEN GROUP user magazine
An open RoadNews issue

Two international versions annually, plus two Chinese versions, two English versions for the U.S. and two additional supplements, 60 pages on average per magazine – that’s a lot of material and a feast for our designers and editors.

Printed brochures – a piece of cake for us

The use of icons makes the magazine a tidy, clear and expressive composition. To add to this, we use large-format pictures and well-targeted graphic elements in a harmonious colour scheme. And more... descriptive texts, well-researched content – all-round perfection. Not least thanks to the years of WIRTGEN GROUP partnership and the close collaboration with the teams of the individual product brands.

The printed product and coloured strips

The challenge for us in this project lay elsewhere.

The scenario: 5 product brands are involved, 60 pages are available and everyone wants to present their own content. A group of x people come together at the regular editorial meetings – under the leadership of the WIRTGEN GROUP – , plus agency staff and language representatives. All of them are involved in the discussion and each having their own wishes and priorities. That also applies to the workflow in the approval process. Keeping everything under control so that constructive teamwork may ensue and at the same time, keeping track of time and costs and ensuring that repeated correction loops stay within acceptable limits is no easy task. But it’s one that’s doable. The result proves it.
