The issue

The WACKER magazine is the company magazine of the Munich chemicals company with the same name. Our challenge as part of the Internet relaunch: digitising high-quality journalistic articles. Not as a printed edition behind a screen, but instead as a high-quality, easy-to-read and easy-on-the-reader offshoot of the magazine on the web. In addition to this, the online magazine is, of course, fully integrated into CMS FirstSpirit and can be updated at any time by our editors.

The idea

Because the first step involves taking existing articles and reports from the printed magazine, we pay particular attention to the reading experience. And what could make for more natural reading than in the style of a magazine? The texts themselves are well structured, the typeface is easy to read and the various text blocks are simply animated. As if that weren’t enough, for certain articles you can enjoy a horizontal reading experience, almost like a book.

And as with every good book, there’s also a practical table of contents. The plan is for the WACKER magazine to grow and become an exciting digital store of knowledge for the company. That’s why we’ve provided a filter on the start page which can narrow down the list of articles based on the subject.

The realisation

Why spend any more time writing about user experience? The best thing is to look at the magazine live and in colour, and see for yourself.
